The Heart of Costa Rica
La Anita Rainforest Ranch is a tropical macadamia and flower plantation
surrounded by pristine virgin rainforest in northern Costa Rica. Our
location is unique because we are situated in the valley between three
volcanoes in a zone where tropical rainforest adjoins cloud forest,
creating a haven for hundreds of species of tropical birds, huge indigo
fluorescent morpho butterflies communities of monkey troops patrolling
our stands of dense jungle, and jungle cats, some on the verge of
extinction. We are on the boundary of one of Costa Rica's most prolific
national park preserves called the Rincon De La Vieja National Park.
Views of the surrounding volcanoes are impressive, with cloud blankets covering the tops of the volcanoes like soft cotton blankets. Even though the Costa Rican beaches are hot and dry, Finca La Anita, only 50 miles from the beaches, is located in a micro-climate that is cool, lush and sunny. Our orchards are usually surrounded by misty clouds and the virgin forest.
