Ornamental
Flowers
You've seen them in brochures, on the cover of travel books, in tropical ecology books - now you can see our collection of ornamental tropical flowers in person! La Anita Rainforest Ranch is growing a variety of tropical flowers - including the Tropical Torch, Emperor of Darkness, Lobster Claw, Yellow Flag, Cat Palm, Red and Pink Ginger - for sale to individuals, florists, and hotels. All our flowers are organically grown and provide a complimentary crop to our macadamia, as they can grow in the same conditions and help prevent some of the pests that plague the macadamia crop. Guests are welcome to stroll through our rolling hills, blooming in hues of pink, red, green, yellow, and orange!
Ornamental Greens
Every beautiful centerpiece deserves a beautiful backdrop, and for
this purpose, we provide the Cat Palm. Recognized as the first-class
finishing detail for premiere elegant bouquets, the brilliant hue and
shapely body of our ornamental green compliment our ornamental flowers
without distracting from the alluring foreground. Our ornamental greens,
like our other ornamental flowers, are also available to individuals,
florists, and hotels. Please Contact Us to
make a purchase and complete your tropical display.
Medicinal Plants
Stomach queasy? Bugs biting? Can't get to sleep? We've got your remedy... Stroll through our medicinal plant garden to learn about the healing properties of the rainforest's most potent plants. Brew up some ginger tea, extract your own aloe vera solution, or slide a tilo leaf under your cap for the road. Our garden combines common herbs - oregano, mint, cardamom - and more esoteric medicinal species. Students, professors, and visiting tourists are all welcome!
Exotic Fruit
Mandarin limes, starfruit, papaya - all waiting to be picked. Our exotic fruit orchards provide a chance to sample and learn about fruit varieties - such as the mamón chino and the mangostine - that exclusively grow in this patch of Central America. Students of biology and agriculture are welcome to study the meticulous care needed to grow these precious species.
Organic Produce
The cornerstone of the good life on the farm - Choosing your own organic pineapple from a bed of bromelias, picking your own lettuce from the soil, and chopping some fresh, wild cilantro to add to your salad. Our organic vegetable garden is the home of the meals for those who visit the ranch. While you may usually need to search the "Specialized Food" section of grocery isles to find taro, yucca, and green plantains, we leave our gates open to your fresh food cravings.
